As I reflect on this past year, I am struck by what a big year this was for Centriworks. 2024 marked the 60th anniversary of our company’s inception. My grandfather, Randall Sumner, started our company in 1964 out of the back of his baby blue Mustang Fastback. His product was thermal paper, and the cutting-edge technology was a 3M Thermo-Fax. My father, Steve Sumner, acquired the company and assumed the role of President in 1994. By this point, the digital revolution had launched, and software was the new technology asset. In 2018, Centriworks began providing Managed IT Services to our clients. This decision was an effort to align and optimize our client’s technology ecosystem. As our clients’ technology infrastructures became more complex, we felt it was vital to provide services to our clients that promote a cohesive and collaborative digital landscape. Today, Centriworks is the largest and most experienced Technology Service Provider headquartered in East Tennessee.

Over the past 60 years, Centriworks has evolved with the new innovations in our industry. Today, office technology connects and interacts with multiple devices and utilities on your organization’s network infrastructure. 60 years ago, each device was completely restricted to its core functions. In 2024, almost all office technology connects and relays information to multiple endpoints. As endpoints increase, user sophistication improves, and new cybersecurity protocols become imperative, office technology is becoming progressively more complex. Centriworks is committed to progressing with technology as its complexities increase. The technology landscape in 2024 is beyond what we could have possibly imagined in 1964. I am proud of Centriworks’ commitment to educating our team members on the latest technology developments, regulations, and security standards.

2024 has been a year of growth and development. Our team has expanded; we created new roles and expanded current responsibilities for our team members to better serve our clients. We implemented new procedures and utilities that have improved our operational efficiency. Our core processes have been evaluated for areas to improve and opportunities to automate tasks. Centriworks has adopted a humanistic approach to our core business functions. We repeatedly asked ourselves the question: “What can we do to make this process faster/more efficient/better for our clients and our team members?” In summary, the theme this year was continuous improvement both internally and externally.

As we close out the year, we are excited for the opportunities of 2025. I am hopeful that our improvements made in 2024 will be actualized in the new year. We are immensely thankful for our clients and their appreciation of technology. We pride ourselves on providing solutions that optimize our clients’ workspaces. Additionally, Centriworks owes an enormous amount of gratitude to our team members. Their innovative ideas, commitment to excellence, and ONE TEAM mentality have been the key to our pursuit of continuous improvement.

On behalf of Centriworks, we want to wish our clients and team members a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
